Voor de derde keer alweer gaat Ketacore helemaal ondergronds in de 330live. Er zijn weer een paar mooie acts opgegraven uit heel Nederland en ver daarbuiten, die jouw avond komen vullen met de beste electronische muziek/herrie.
Het feest begint met duistere klanken en industriele beats, en zal daarna overgaan in jungle en melodieuze beats, om af te sluiten met een overdosis stevige breakcore. Allemaal underground als de pest natuurlijk.
Speciale gast deze avond is de Russische Mirra, bekend van het duo Mirra+Fay, die Den Haag al eerder aandeden op hun tours door Europa. En als extraatje wordt op deze avond de nieuwe Ketacore cd-r van Bulkrate en Capslock gereleased, hou het in de gaten!
Karnaval is the name of a music style and cultural movement originated in the south of The Netherlands. The spelling of the word Karnaval is made to deliberately differentiate the musical style from that of Carnaval.
A complete history is made difficult by the underground nature of the movement, but a few facts are clear: In the early 2000s a group of young people gets more and more appalled by the increasingly commercial character of the Dutch Carnaval, and its lack of musical progress. As a DIY alternative, they start creating new music themselves, using computer software and cowbells. Still drawing inspiration from the hoempapa, they manage to incorporate elements from popular electronical music.
Karnaval sound systems form in loose collectives, frequently with anarchist philosophies. They rebel against the church's incorporation of the originally pagan Carnaval festivities. These sound systems join together to hold parties wherever a viable space can be found - typical locations include squatted old farms, bruine kroegen (brown pubs), fields and any other rural spaces. Because Karnaval parties are usually held illegally, this sometimes leads to clashes with the police, as was the case at both the 2004 and 2005 Oeteltek festivals.
Now for the first time in history, some of the originators of the Karnaval movement will come to the surface. Especially for you, they will play their music in one of the biggest commercial venues in Amsterdam, on a party organised by the leading dance promoters of The Netherlands.

Tijdens de afgelopen Haagse popweek vierde Ketacore hier hun 5-jarig bestaan, en nu zijn ze terug! Speciale gast deze avond is CDR, rechtstreek uit Tokyo. Deze knotsgekke Japanner zal een live set neerzetten vol leipe breakcore, idm & andere herrie. Vergezeld van onverstaanbaar geschreeuw en rare manoeuvres!
Vanuit Rotterdam komen de Wreck Havoc opperhoofden FFF & Newk u voorzien van de nodige breakcore/ravecore zoals we van ze gewend zijn. FFF gaat live, Newk doet het met platen.
Uiteraard zijn Ketacore’s bazen Capslock & Baron Staalhard er ook.
Capslock doet een live set met z’n bekende industriële electro hardcore.
Wat Baron Staalhard draait is voor hem zelf meestal ook nog een verrassing.

Op 12 maart is het precies 110 jaar geleden dat in Amsterdam de Nederlandse Cocaïne Fabriek werd opgericht (geen grap vriend, zie wikipedia). Toch wel iets om bij stil te staan, en daarom organiseert Ketacore die avond een intiem feestje in het Amsterdamse OCCII.
De bezoeker wordt op reis genomen door een extreem breed muziekaanbod, zelfs voor Ketacore begrippen. Van zoetzure hiphouse tot aambeeldharde pogo terror, van meisjesbillentrillende jungle en dancehall tot ranzige industrial noise electro, van adrenalineverhogende breakcore hektiek tot lompe duistere doomcore. Kortweg een ware mixtape van subtiele blijheid tot extreme herrie.
Met dj’s David Rose (UK), B82, Baron Staalhard, Assassin, Kingpin, Triqo, en de 2 liveacts zijn Dr. Bibber en Capslock.
